Laboratory Design: A Foundation for Optimal Environments

Choose the type of cleanroom construction you require

At Airology, we specialise in designing and installing state-of-the-art cleanrooms and laboratories. Every project begins with a consultation to understand the requirements.

Then we create an initial design, make amendments and, once approved, begin planning your cleanroom installation.

Using a mix of advanced technologies, Airology Systems Ltd. designs innovative cleanrooms that maximise cleanliness, precision, and efficiency.

We work with you to create a cleanroom design that suits your needs and budget. Technologies may include:

Air Conditioning / HVAC
Air Filtration & Extraction
Fresh Air Input
Mains Power Installation
Humidification or Dehumidification
Pressure Monitoring
Lab Security
Glazing
Additional Building works

We consider the space as a whole and can incorporate offices, stairways, security access points, PPE preparation areas and sterilising stations. We even plan and install designated areas for machinery and quality control, as well as custom furniture and trolleys to support manufacturing efficiency.

Designing Cleanrooms for Precision

We understand that the design of your cleanroom ultimately affects your future workflows and productivity. Our skills lie in creating high-technology, controlled environments with optimised layouts, creating a strong foundation for streamlined, quality work.

By meticulously planning the layout and environmental control systems required, Airology creates cleanrooms that work consistently for the future of your organisation.

To achieve this, we ask seven core questions that support your cleanroom design:
1. Intended Use: Are you creating medical devices, conducting sensitive research, or something else? Strong cleanroom design depends on how it’ll be used.
2. Classification: We work with ISO, GMP and FED classifications to determine the air quality and other requirements.
3. Environmental Needs: Your cleanroom or laboratory design may need to include controls for humidity, temperature and other conditions to ensure your products and research remain stable.
4. Size: How much space do you have to work with? Are there multiple rooms to consider? We can install partition walls to divide large spaces for differences in requirements.
5. Air Quality Control Method: Sometimes incoming air is filtered to remove impurities. Other situations require impurity extraction. Your requirements dictate the methods we include in your cleanroom design.
6. Lighting Conditions: Would your materials require dim lighting? Or would bright lights benefit your processes?
7. Security: If your cleanroom or laboratory is likely to be a hazardous environment, or contain classified research, it would be wise to restrict access. We can install card-operated access points to ensure authorisation.

You can tell us what you need and start your enquiry today, by filling in our cleanroom design web form. One of our experts will come back to you to discuss the details, and you’ll be well on your way to having an in-house controlled environment.

You don’t need to have all the answers to these questions yet. Our skilled team are able to advise on common requirements in your industry, and we’re always happy to hear from you.

7 key decisions when creating a cleanroom environment

1. Decide how it’s to be used

2. Decide how it should be classified

3. Decide on the right environment

4. Decide what size it should be

5. Decide how impurities will be extracted or filtered

6. Decide on the right lighting condition

7. Decide how secure your facility needs to be

Cleanroom Installation and Building Works

We construct high-quality cleanroom facilities in line with ISO 14644-1 class 1-9. We can convert any area into a functional cleanroom laboratory, including electrical and structural installations.

We use high-quality materials and only work with subcontractors who understand the importance of cleanliness even during installation.

After the cleanroom installation is complete, we organise an independent validation inspection. This guarantees that your cleanrooms and laboratory spaces are constructed to the classification requirements specified.

From the initial concept stage to final installation and validation, an Airology cleanroom is built to high standards.
