Project Overview
Airology Systems was appointed to transform an existing office environment into a purpose-built cleanroom facility to support a specialist manufacturing process. The project required the complete reconfiguration of the existing space to create a fully integrated cleanroom incorporating multiple ISO classified environments, specialist services and validated environmental control systems.
Designed to operate continuously in the unmanned, non-operational state, the new facility provides controlled manufacturing areas with positive pressure, H14 HEPA filtration and carefully managed airflow to meet the required cleanliness classifications.
The Challenge
The client required a modern cleanroom facility capable of accommodating several manufacturing processes within one integrated environment. The design needed to achieve different ISO classifications across individual rooms whilst maximising the available footprint and integrating specialist mechanical and electrical services to support production equipment.
The project also required dedicated gowning and storage areas, hygienic finishes throughout and the flexibility to support future operational requirements.
The Solution
Working closely with the client throughout the design and construction process, Airology Systems delivered a complete turnkey cleanroom solution tailored to the operational requirements of the facility.
The installation included the construction of new insulated cleanroom walling with hygienic finishes, specialist cleanroom doors, seamless vinyl flooring with cap and coved skirting, ceiling modifications and the installation of a high-performance H14 HEPA filtration system.
Individual cleanroom areas were designed to achieve ISO 6, ISO 7 and ISO 8 classifications, each with dedicated recirculatory air systems, controlled air change rates and positive pressure to provide the required environmental performance.
Specialist filtration systems were incorporated to provide additional make-up air for production equipment, with intelligent electrical interlocking ensuring the systems operate only when required, improving both efficiency and operational control.
The project also included the installation of stainless steel mechanically interlocked pass-through hatches, magnetic door interlocking, compressed air services, electrical power distribution, data infrastructure, pressure monitoring, water and drainage services and bespoke hygienic workstations to provide a complete operational cleanroom environment.
The Outcome
Following completion, the facility was fully commissioned, balanced and validated to the required ISO classifications, providing the client with a modern, reliable cleanroom environment designed to support specialist manufacturing operations.
The completed installation delivers:
- Multi-room ISO classified cleanroom environments
- H14 HEPA filtration with controlled airflow
- Positive pressure throughout the facility
- Specialist services integrated for manufacturing equipment
- Hygienic construction using cleanroom compliant materials
- Validated environmental performance
- A flexible, future-ready cleanroom designed for long-term operational reliability
